The game in Galdakao was also quite interesting. Third ranked Joventut LC (9-4) played at the court of 6th ranked GDKO Bizkaia (7-6). Joventut LC defeated GDKO Bizkaia 71-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-59. Joventut LC dominated on the defensive end, holding GDKO Bizkaia to just 7 points in second quarter. Maria Cordon stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and Nerea Garmendia chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Joventut LC players scored in double figures. At the losing side Cameroonian forward Achiri Ade (185, college: Texas A&M) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Araia Pena scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Joventut LC. Newly promoted Joventut LC maintains third place in Group A with 9-4 record having four points less than leader Aros Leon. GDKO Bizkaia lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Joventut LC will face ADBA (#12) in Aviles in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GDKO Bizkaia will play on the road against the league's leader Aros Leon (#1) and hope to win that game.
