Regular Season Round 12: Aulnoye - Arras 60-70

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Aulnoye (4-8) lost at home to fourth ranked Arras (8-4) 70-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Arras. Aulnoye managed to win third quarter 13-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arras forced 20 Aulnoye turnovers. The winners were led by guard Aminata Konate (169-90) who scored that evening 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American guard D'lesha Lloyd (179-86, college: Clemson) supported her with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists by naturalized DR Congolese forward Lorraine Lokoka (184-89) did not help to save the game for Aulnoye. Forward Maud Medenou (189-90) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Aulnoye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Arras have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Bretagne Basket. Loser Aulnoye dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Arras will meet at home Montbrison (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Aulnoye will play against Limoges and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
