Regular Season Round 15: HyPo - Espoo Team 68-65

Seventh-ranked Espoo Team (5-10) was very close to win a game against first ranked HyPo (13-2) in Hyvinkaa on Saturday. HyPo managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 20-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 9 rebounds. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) contributed with 7 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Tierra Henderson (178-87, college: UCLA) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and the other American import power forward Morgan Bailey (189-92, college: BYU) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Espoo Team. Four Espoo Team players scored in double figures. Espoo Team's coach Niko Hellman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. HyPo have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-2 record. Espoo Team at the other side dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. HyPo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Espoo Team will play at home against Aanekosken (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
