Regular Season Round 13: Aiolos Astakou - Iraklis 70-62

The game between second ranked Iraklis (10-2) and seventh ranked Aiolos Astakou (7-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Iraklis was defeated by Aiolos Astakou in a tough game in Astakou 62-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Iraklis. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Nikos Kaklamanos (189-81) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. Center Nikos Libaris-Psomas (210-84) contributed with 9 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Vasilis Angelakopoulos (203-79) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Iraklis. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aiolos Astakou have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ethnikos. Iraklis at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Aiolos Astakou is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pagrati (#16) in Athens in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iraklis will play at home against Doxa Pefkon (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
