LF2 top team - Leganes (12-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Olimpico 64 (0-13) 85-72. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Leganes's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-20 extending their advantage to 13 points. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Leganes forced 21 Olimpico 64 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Ashley Ezeh (185, college: Texas St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import forward Christina Marinacci (185-91, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Leganes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and power forward Katia Javier (182-93) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico 64. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Leganes. They maintain first place in Group B with 12-1 record. Olimpico 64 lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Leganes' next round opponent will be Promete (#12) which should be an easy win for them. Olimpico 64 will play against Antiguo Boscos in Zaragoza and hopes to get finally their first victory.
