Regular Season Round 14: Villarrobledo - Tenerife Naut. 76-78

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Villarrobledo (7-7) was edged at home by fourth ranked Tenerife Naut. (9-3) 78-76 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 31-24. But Villarrobledo won second period 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tenerife Naut. made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Cuban power forward Georffri Silvestre (202-79) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Bosnian forward Adnan Omeragic (201-96) contributed with 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Bo Barnes (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Haylett Sports) replied with 32 points and his fellow American import forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) added 22 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Villarrobledo. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tenerife Naut. moved-up to third place in Group B. Loser Villarrobledo keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face Casvi (#4) in Villaviciosa in the next round. Villarrobledo will play on the road against CB Guadalajara (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
