Regular Season Round 8: Louaize - Byblos 71-83

Another exciting game was played in Zouk between second ranked Byblos and one of their biggest challengers Louaize where Byblos (6-2) beat Louaize (5-3) on the road 83-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Louaize. The game was mostly controlled by Byblos. Louaize was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!). Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. International guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) replied with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American Travis McKie (201-92, college: Wake Forest) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Louaize. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Byblos maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Homenetmen. Louaize at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Riyadi. Byblos will play against Tadamon (#5) in Zouk in the next round. Louaize will play on the road against Hoops Club in Beirut and hopes to get back on the winning track.
