Very expected game when 14th ranked Roannais (2-10) lost at home to eighth ranked COB Calais (7-5) 79-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-62. COB Calais forced 23 Roannais turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Shawnta Dyer (185-91, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Ornella Bankole (181-97) supported her with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four COB Calais players scored in double figures. Even 20 points by forward Jessica Clemencon (190-89) did not help to save the game for Roannais. Forward Amandine Toi (179-98) added 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). COB Calais moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Reims and SIG. Roannais lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with CFBB. COB Calais will meet at home Toulouse (#8) in the next round. Roannais will play against CFBB (#13) in Paris and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
