Everything went according to plan in Starogard where twelfth ranked Polpharma (7-8) beat 15th ranked AZS Polfarmex (3-10) 71-62 on Saturday. Polpharma made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Strangely AZS Polfarmex outrebounded Polpharma 36-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) chipped in 12 points. At the losing side power forward Mateusz Bartosz (205-87) responded with 6 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Dardan Berisha (191-88) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Polpharma maintains twelfth place with 7-8 record. AZS Polfarmex lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Polpharma will face AZS Koszalin (#14) on the road in the next round. AZS Polfarmex will play against Krosno and hope to win that game.
