Regular Season Round 16: Alcazar - L'Hospitalet 69-63

Very predictable result when tenth ranked Alcazar (8-8) defeated at home 15th ranked L'Hospitalet (4-12) 69-63 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But L'Hospitalet won third quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Alcazar won last quarter 19-14. American-Haitian guard Nick LaGuerre (190-93, college: St.Mary's, MD, agency: Duran International) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Alcazar players scored in double figures. Center Eduard Arques (202-94) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) added 18 points respectively for lost side. L'Hospitalet's coach Jorge Tarragona tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Alcazar moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Zornotza. L'Hospitalet lost fifth consecutive game. L'Hospitalet at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Zamorano. Alcazar will meet league's leader CB Granada on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. L'Hospitalet will play against Gandia (#12) and hope to secure a win.
