Not a big story in a game in Tarnobrzeg where 16th ranked Stabill (2-12) was rolled over by fourteenth ranked AZS Koszalin (5-9) 90-69 on Saturday. AZS Koszalin forced 22 Stabill turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. AZS Koszalin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Jakub Zalewski (184-86) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and the former international Piotr Stelmach (205-84, college: Mississippi St., agency: BeoExcell) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. AZS Koszalin's coach Piotr Ignatowicz felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American Travis Releford (198-90, college: Kansas) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Brown (180-89, college: Montana-West) scored 23 points and 7 assists. AZS Koszalin moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Asseco. Loser Stabill keeps the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. AZS Koszalin will face higher ranked Polpharma (#12) in Starogard in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stabill will play on the road against Asseco (#13) in Gdynia and hope to win that game.
