Regular Season Round 15: Enel Brindisi - Umana VE 106-108

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Serie A took place in Brindisi. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Enel Brindisi (7-8) to second ranked Umana Venezia (11-4) 108-106 on Sunday evening. Umana Venezia made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Enel Brindisi turnovers. It was a great evening for American-Georgian point guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Umana Venezia maintains second place with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader EA7 Armani, which they share with Scandone AV. Enel Brindisi at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Umana Venezia is looking forward to face AV Cantu (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Enel Brindisi will play against Dolomiti En. TR (#13) in Trento and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
