Regular Season Round 8: Tokyo HT - Toyoda Gosei 75-60

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Toyoda Gosei (3-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Tokyo HT (16-8) 75-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tokyo HT. Toyoda Gosei managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who added 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) responded with 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals and swingman Ryo Wakabayashi (182-88) scored 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo HT maintains third position with 16-8 record having five points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Toyoda Gosei keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Tokyo HT will meet Saitama Broncos (#7) on the road in the next round. Toyoda Gosei will play against the league's second-placed Kanazawa Sam. in Ishikawa and hope to secure a win.
