Fifteenth-ranked Astoria Bydg. (4-12) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Polonia Leszno (10-6) on Sunday. Polonia Leszno managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Tomasz Stepien (192-86) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and guard Jakub Koelner (183-93) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side Mateusz Bierwagen (195-88, agency: Promotex) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Astoria Bydg.'s coach Konrad Kazmierczyk let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Polonia Leszno moved-up to sixth place, which they share with GKS Tychy. Loser Astoria Bydg. keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Polonia Leszno will face Rosa II Radom (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astoria Bydg. will play against Legia W-wa in Warszawa and hope to win that game.
