Regular Season Round 8: Istanbul Univ. - Good Angels 67-60

The biggest surprise took place in Istanbul where host Turkish Istanbul Uni (3-5) beat league's leader Slovakian Good Angels (7-1) 67-60 on Sunday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But Good Angels won third quarter 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Bosnian-Serbian guard Sasa Cado (178-89) who scored 19 points. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Vicki Baugh (193-89, college: Tennessee) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Istanbul Uni maintains seventh position with 3-5 record. Defending Slovakian champion Good Angels still keep top place with one game lost. They were joined at the leadership position by TTT Riga who have the same record.
