Regular Season Round 14: Valencia II - Almassera 82-48

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Valencia-2 (5-6) crushed at home 10th ranked Almassera (1-11) 82-48 on Sunday. The game without a history. Valencia-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Almassera's 22. They outrebounded Almassera 48-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. Jon Galarza (193-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Carlos Cerdan (190-97) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Valencia-2 players scored in double figures. Forward Matias Boho (193-96) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alvaro Dominguez (197-97) added 13 points in the effort for Almassera. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia-2 moved-up to seventh place in Group E, which they share with Sagunto. Almassera lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Valencia-2 will face league's leader Myrtia in Murcia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Almassera will play at home against the league's second-placed UCAM Murcia II (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
