Regular Season Round 13: Hapoel Eilat - Maccabi T-A 94-86

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maccabi T-A (10-3) on the court of tenth ranked Hapoel Eilat on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Hapoel Eilat 94-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi T-A. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 58-49 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Eilat made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Maccabi T-A turnovers. American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) stepped up and scored 32 points and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. At the losing side the former international point guard Gal Mekel (190-88, college: Wichita St., agency: BeoBasket) responded with 23 points and 5 assists and American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) scored 19 points. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat (6-7) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Hapoel Eilat is looking forward to face higher ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi T-A will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Holon (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
