An interesting game took place in Mogi das Cruzes where higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (7-6) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Mogi (5-5) 89-66 on Tuesday. Mogi dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Paschoalotto/Bauru's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. International guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) produced 13 points and the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to tenth place. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Franca and Campo Mourao. Mogi will meet at home higher ranked Vivo/Franca (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play against Campo Mourao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
