Regular Season Round 21: Uppsala - Malbas 97-58

Date: January 10, 2017
The game between fourth ranked Uppsala Basket (9-8) and 9th ranked Malbas (1-16) in Uppsala on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. Uppsala Basket outscored guests from Malmo 97-58. The game was mostly controlled by Uppsala Basket. Malbas was better in second period 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game, while Malbas only scored four points from the stripe. Uppsala Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Malbas were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international point guard Andreas Person (190-91) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Alexander Lindqvist (205-91, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. Danish center Lasse Elbaek (208-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) added 10 points and 7 assists in the effort for Malbas. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Uppsala Basket went down to sixth position due to points difference. Malbas lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Uppsala Basket will face Umea (#8) at home in the next round. Malbas will play against KFUM Jamtland and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
