Bottom-ranked Al Khor is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to ninth ranked Al Wakrah (2-7) 94-66 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-66. Al Wakrah dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Al Khor's 38. They outrebounded Al Khor 40-29 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Larry Blair (183-84, college: Liberty) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American-Nigerian forward Olatunbo Ayeni (196-87, college: St.Francis, NY) contributed with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Ayeni is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American point guard Dairese Gary (185-88, college: N.Mexico) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import Rickey Young (205-90, college: W.Virginia Tech) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Al Khor. Four Al Khor players scored in double figures. Al Wakrah maintains ninth place with 2-7 record. Al Khor lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost.
