The most important game in the last round took place in Sichuan between second ranked Guandong Tigers (21-5) and ninth ranked Sichuan BW (14-12) on Wednesday night. Guandong Tigers were crushed by Sichuan BW on the road 109-130. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Guandong Tigers. Sichuan BW shot 40 for 56 from the free-throw line, while Guandong Tigers only scored ten points from the stripe. Sichuan BW had a 41-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 41 personal fouls committed by Guandong Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Rongqi Huang (190-99) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Carlos Boozer (206-80, college: Duke) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Rui Zhao (193-96) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Guandong Tigers. Four Sichuan BW and five Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains ninth position with 14-12 record. Guandong Tigers at the other side keep the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Xinjiang FT. Sichuan BW are looking forward to face higher ranked Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Guandong Tigers will play on the road against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#3) in Urumqi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
