Regular Season Round 26: Qingdao E. - Jiangsu D. 107-105

A very close game took place in Qingdao between Qingdao Eagles and Jiangsu Dragons. Twelfth ranked Qingdao Eagles (12-13) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (12-14). Qingdao Eagles managed to escape with a 2-point win 107-105 in the fight for the tenth place. Qingdao Eagles forced 26 Jiangsu Dragons turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) notched 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) supported him with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Even 31 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists by American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu Dragons. The former international Li Yi (203-85) added 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Qingdao Eagles have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Loser Jiangsu Dragons keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Shanxi Zh.. Qingdao Eagles will meet bottom-ranked Guangzhou (#20) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo and hope to secure a win.
