Regular Season Round 7: Astana - Kaspiy Aktau 77-59

Very significant was Astana's (#1, 10-0) victory against 3rd placed Kaspiy Aktau (0-10) 77-59. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Rustam Yargaliev (195-86) who led the winners and scored 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Roderick Odom (206-91, college: Vanderbilt) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Point guard Azim Yagodkin (185-92) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Shaim Kuanov (181-91) added 14 points respectively for Kaspiy Aktau in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Astana. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Kaspiy Aktau lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Astana will again play against bottom-ranked Kaspiy Aktau (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kaspiy Aktau will have a break next round.
