Regular Season Round 27: Guangzhou LL - Qingdao E. 85-94

Very expected game when 20th ranked Guangzhou (4-23) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Qingdao Eagles (13-13) 94-85 on Friday. It was a great evening for American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 40 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) helped adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and international center Ziming Fan (211-98) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Four Guangzhou players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Qingdao Eagles. They maintain tenth place with 13-13 record. Guangzhou lost their seventh game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Qingdao Eagles will face higher ranked Guandong Tigers (#3) in Dongguan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guangzhou will play at home against Bayi Rockets (#19) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
