Very expected game when 8th ranked Forssan Koripojat (6-10) was rolled over at home by second ranked Espoo United (11-4) 110-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Espoo United. Forssan Koripojat was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Espoo United forced 20 Forssan Koripojat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: Connecticut) who scored 24 points. Point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Four Espoo United players scored in double figures. Forward Bruce Reed (202-90, college: Pikeville) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and swingman Roderick Flemings (203-87, college: Hawaii) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Espoo United maintains second position in Division with 11-4 record having just one point less than leader TuNMKY. Loser Forssan Koripojat keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Espoo United will face Oulun NMKY (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Forssan Koripojat will play against the league's leader Lahti (#1) and hope to win that game.
