Regular Season Round 14: Crema - Bolzano 77-56

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Team Crema (10-4) outplayed at home 12th ranked Bolzano (3-11) 77-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Team Crema led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bolzano to just 7 points in third quarter. Team Crema forced 21 Bolzano turnovers. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Martina Picotti (184-90) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (189-86) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. Five Team Crema and four Bolzano players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Team Crema moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Bolzano keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Team Crema will face league's leader Sesto SG in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Bolzano will play at home against Virtus Cagliari (#9) and hope to win that game.
