Regular Season Round 27: Indios - Garzas 83-75

An interesting game was played in Ciudad Juarez where host Ciudad (#8) won against 4th placed Garzas 83-75 on Saturday evening. Ciudad made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Garzas turnovers. It was a great evening for American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Tony Bennett (185-84, college: Bradley) helped adding 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Ciudad players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Puerto Rican forward William Orozco (201-85, agency: Paris Global Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ciudad maintains eighth place with 10-16 record. Newly promoted Garzas keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Panteras. Ciudad will meet at home higher ranked Toros (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Garzas will play against Correcaminos and hope to secure a win.
