Regular Season Round 17: ViVe - Espoo Team 59-70

The biggest surprise of round 17 in SM-sarja was guest Espoo Team's (7-10) road victory over 7th ranked ViVe (6-11) 70-59 on Saturday evening. ViVe was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Espoo Team forced 20 ViVe turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Tierra Henderson (178-87, college: UCLA) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Morgan Bailey (189-92, college: BYU) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Espoo Team's coach Niko Hellman used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Olivia Nash (185-94, college: Oakland) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four ViVe players scored in double figures. Espoo Team moved-up to sixth place. ViVe lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Espoo Team are looking forward to face higher ranked Forssan Alku (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ViVe will play against Kouvottaret (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
