Regular Season Round 15: Araski - Gernika 61-63

The most interesting game of round 15 in the LFB was only two-point a home defeat of 4th placed Araski (9-6) to third ranked Gernika (10-5) 63-61 in the game for the third place. It was a great evening for American Amisha Carter (186-82, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St.) helped adding 13 points and 14 rebounds. Four Gernika players scored in double figures. Gernika's coach Mario Lopez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (181-83) scored 3 points and 14 rebounds. Gernika maintains third place with 10-5 record having four points less than leader Avenida. Newly promoted Araski keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Gernika are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Gran Canaria (#14) in Las Palmas in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Araski will play on the road against Campus Promete (#6) in Logrono and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
