Very expected game in Madrid where 13th ranked Valencia (2-12) was defeated by fourth ranked Distrito Olimpico (9-5) 75-66 on Saturday. Valencia trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 66-75 at the end of the game. Distrito Olimpico dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia's 22. Distrito Olimpico forced 21 Valencia turnovers and outrebounded them 47-32 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Center Daira Varas (193-89) chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds. Virginia Saez (-95) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and M'Angeles Munoz (-88) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Distrito Olimpico maintains fourth position in Group B with 9-5 record, which they share with Estudiantes. Valencia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost.
