Rather expected game when 14th ranked San Vendemiano (4-12) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Vicenza (6-10) 76-69 on Saturday. Vicenza shot 27 for 39 from the free-throw line, while San Vendemiano only scored nine points from the stripe. San Vendemiano was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Daniele Demartini (187-84, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Andrea Campiello (200-87) who added 9 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Andrea Carlesso (202-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Francesco Pin Dal Pos (193-85) scored 17 points. Five San Vendemiano players scored in double figures. San Vendemiano's coach Fabio Volpato rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vicenza moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Desio and Reggio Emilia. Newly promoted San Vendemiano keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Vicenza will face higher ranked Piacenza (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. San Vendemiano will play against Volpino AltoSeb. (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
