Regular Season Round 9: Tokyo Big Blue - Fukuoka Rizing 46-95

B League D3 top team - Fukuoka Rizing (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Tokyo Big Blue (1-15) 95-46. The game without a history. Fukuoka Rizing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Big Blue to just 7 points in first and second quarters and to 14 points in first half. Fukuoka Rizing held Tokyo Big Blue to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 58.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Fukuoka Rizing forced 22 Tokyo Big Blue turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Keishiro Akira-Shiro (182-86) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Guard Jesse Iwatsuki (186-91) came up with 12 points and Kengo Funabashi (-93) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Big Blue in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fukuoka Rizing have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record, which they share with Kanazawa Sam. Tokyo Big Blue lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will meet Saitama Broncos (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tokyo Big Blue will play against Aisin AW and hope to win that game.
