Regular Season Round 15: Brasilia - Flamengo 95-83

The biggest surprise took place in Brasilia where host Brasilia (11-3) beat league's leader Flamengo (10-2) 95-83 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Flamengo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was international power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) who scored 24 points. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brasilia's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who recorded 24 points and the former international power forward Joao Paulo Lopez (205-81, college: Gonzaga) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four Brasilia and five Flamengo players scored in double figures. Brasilia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Flamengo dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Brasilia. Flamengo will play next round against Mogi trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Brasilia will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked Caxias do Sul on the road.
