Regular Season Round 16: Hottur - Armann 102-55

D1 top team - Hottur (13-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Armann (0-15) in Egilsstadir 102-55. The game without a history. Hottur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Hottur forced 22 Armann turnovers and outrebounded them 51-34 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Armann's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ragnar Albertsson (190-93) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Point guard Sigmar Hakonarson (181-92) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Hottur's coach Vidar Hafsteinsson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Thorleifur Baldvinsson (189-93) replied with 17 points and Thorsteinn Hjorleifsson (-95) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Armann. Hottur have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Armann at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Hottur are looking forward to face Valur (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Armann will play against Vestri (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
