Very expected game in Lleida where 5th ranked Palma II (7-5) was crushed by first ranked Pardinyes-L. (10-2) 98-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Pardinyes-L. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Pardinyes-L. had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Ruben Fernandez who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Javier Mendiburu (197-80) helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was guard Alberto Garcia (192-87) with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardinyes-L. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group C-B with 10-2 record, which they share with Quart. Palma II lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face Castelldefels (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palma II will play against Barbera (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
