No shocking result in a game when first ranked Sesto SG (13-1) crushed 11th ranked Carugate (3-11) in Corugate 74-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sesto SG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Carugate to just 7 points in third quarter. Sesto SG dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Carugate's 18. They outrebounded Carugate 34-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Elisa Ercoli (191-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 24 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Claudia Colli (178-96) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Laura Rossi (166-97) added 8 points in the effort for Carugate. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sesto SG maintains first position in A2 with 13-1 record. Loser Carugate keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Sesto SG will face Team Crema (#4) at home in the next round. Carugate will play against San Salvatore (#8) and hope to win that game.
