Regular Season Round 14: Dandenong - Melbourne 73-61

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dandenong Rangers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Dandenong Rangers defeated 7th ranked Boomers at home 73-61. Dandenong Rangers forced 21 Boomers turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Dandenong Rangers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Boomers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Ally Malott (193-92, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Stephanie Cumming (178-90) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. American guard Brittany Smart (175-85, college: Cedarville) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Olivia Thompson (185-93) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Boomers' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Boomers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Boomers will play next round against strong Perth Lynx trying to get back on the winning streak. Dandenong Rangers will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Adelaide Lightning on the road.
