There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Aris Thessal. (3-6) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Kronos AD (2-8) 82-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kronos AD. Aris Thessal. managed to win second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kronos AD forced 22 Aris Thessal. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Australian forward Alex Sheedy (185-92, college: Fresno St.) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Sofia Kyriakopoulou chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her eight free throws) during the contest. Four Kronos AD players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Guyanese guard Miriam McKenzie (177-90, college: Loyola, MD) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Brittni Montgomery (190-92, college: Cent.Florida) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Aris Thessal.'s coach George Ataktidis rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kronos AD maintains eleventh position with 2-8 record. Aris Thessal. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Kronos AD will meet higher ranked Panathlitikos (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aris Thessal.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena Panathlitikos.
