Regular Season Round 14: Orvieto - Albino 76-54

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Orvieto (10-3) crushed at home 9th ranked Albino (5-9) 76-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Orvieto. Albino was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Albino to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Albino 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Orvieto players scored in double figures. Orvieto's coach Massimo Romano felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian guard Lana Packovski (170-94) replied with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Albino. Orvieto moved-up to third place in A2. Loser Albino dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Orvieto will face league's second-placed Empoli on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Albino will play against Alghero (#14) and hope to win that game.
