Regular Season Round 14: Oostende - Deerlijk 68-76

There was no surprise in Oostende where 9th ranked KB D-Glas (3-9) were defeated by seventh ranked Tulikivi (6-8) 76-68 on Sunday. KB D-Glas trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 24-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 68-76 at the end of the game. Tulikivi forced 19 KB D-Glas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Silke Storme (172-92) who scored 12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Nele Poffyn (173-91) chipped in 17 points. Canadian Melissa Rondinelli (184-92) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Bieke Vanrenterghem (175-86) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tulikivi maintains seventh position with 6-8 record. Loser KB D-Glas keep the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Houthalen. Tulikivi are looking forward to face higher ranked Liege (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KB D-Glas will play against Houthalen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
