There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Bondi Ferrara (6-11) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Chieti (6-10) 83-74 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. American guard Trae Golden (188-91, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Chieti players scored in double figures. American forward Laurence Bowers (203-90, college: Missouri) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import Terrence Roderick (196-88, college: UAB) added 26 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Chieti moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Bondi Ferrara dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Chieti will face higher ranked Alma Trieste (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bondi Ferrara will play against Roseto (#8) and hope to win that game.
