Regular Season Round 9: Tokyo Big Blue - Fukuoka Rizing 56-80

B League D3 top team - Fukuoka Rizing (14-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Tokyo Big Blue (1-15) 80-56. The game was mostly controlled by Fukuoka Rizing. Tokyo Big Blue was better in fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 54-19 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) chipped in 10 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Ryota Ito (178-92) with 15 points and 4 assists and swingman Ryo Kuroki (192-93) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukuoka Rizing have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record, which they share with Kanazawa Sam. Tokyo Big Blue lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Saitama Broncos (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tokyo Big Blue will play against Aisin AW to get more than just one victory in their record.
