Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Desio (6-10) was defeated at home by third ranked Piacenza (13-3) 70-58 on Sunday. Strangely Desio outrebounded Piacenza 40-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. Desio was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Giacomo Sanguinetti (180-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Diego Banti (206-83, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Filippo Politi (205-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and forward Andrea Negri (193-88) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piacenza have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Bergamo. Desio lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Piacenza will face Vicenza (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Desio will play against Reggio Emilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
