Regular Season Round 28: Guangzhou LL - Bayi R. 96-85

Bottom-ranked Guangzhou managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against nineteenth-ranked Bayi Rockets 96-85. They outrebounded Bayi Rockets 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. American swingman D.J. Kennedy (198-89, college: St.John's) fired 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. International center Ziming Fan (211-98) chipped in 27 points and 9 rebounds. Four Guangzhou players scored in double figures. International forward Yuchen Zou (203-96) produced 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international forward Yan Cao (196-91) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Bayi Rockets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Guangzhou (5-23) moved-up to nineteenth place, which they share with Bayi R. Bayi Rockets lost fifth consecutive game. Guangzhou is looking forward to face higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#7) in Jinan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bayi Rockets will play on the road against Guandong Tigers (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
