Regular Season Round 27: Correcaminos - Barreteros 89-101

There was no surprise in Ciudad Victoria where 10th ranked Correcaminos (6-21) were defeated by seventh ranked Barreteros (11-16) 101-89 on Sunday. The game without a history. Barreteros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Carl Jones (180-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: DTMones) helped adding 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Barreteros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and American forward Kennedy Jones (201, college: Arlington Baptist) scored 18 points and 6 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Barreteros. They moved-up to sixth place. Correcaminos at the other side stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Barreteros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play against Garzas (#5) in Plata Hidalgo and hope to secure a win.
