Regular Season Round 15: Martorell - Menorca 83-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Menorca (9-3) on the court of fourth ranked Martorell on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Martorell 83-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Menorca. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group C-A. It was a great evening for forward Alex Hernandez (190-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 steals. Center Marc Bernadi (205-93) helped adding 15 points. Martorell's coach Adria Alonso used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Jesus Vargas (193-94) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and center Jan Orfila (207-84) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Martorell (8-4) moved-up to second place in Group C-A, which they share with Calvia. Newly promoted Menorca still keeps top position with three games lost. Martorell is looking forward to face Olivar (#14) in Zaragoza in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Menorca will play against Mataro (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
