Regular Season Round 16: Sparta - Musel Pikes 83-89

Total League top team - Musel Pikes (14-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Sparta (9-7) in Bertrange 89-83. They outrebounded Sparta 44-30 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sparta was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a quality performance of power forward Clancy Rugg (203-91, college: Vermont, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St.) who added 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Musel Pikes players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Brad Reese (200-88, college: Texas Tech) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Musel Pikes have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-2 record, which they share with Amicale. Sparta at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with T71 and Contern. Musel Pikes will play against league's second-placed Amicale in Steinsel in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sparta will play on the road against Etzella in Ettelbruck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
