Regular Season Round 17: Agropoli - Agrigento 59-69

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Agropoli (5-12) was defeated at home by third ranked Agrigento (11-6) 69-59 on Sunday. Agropoli was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Alessandro Piazza (175-87) who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Perrin Buford (198-94, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Donnell Taylor (198-82, college: UAB) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Agrigento maintains third place in A2 with 11-6 record having just two points less than leader Virtus Bologna. Loser Agropoli keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Agrigento will face league's second-placed Angelico Biella at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Agropoli will play against Treviglio (#10) and hope to win that game.
