The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (9-2) in Ramat Hen on Monday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (3-8) 81-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Gan. Hap.Petah Tikva made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American swingman Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. The other American import guard Ashley Beverly-Kelley (168-93, college: Troy) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 20 rebounds and 9 assists and Bria Holmes (185-94, college: W.Virginia) added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ramat Gan. Five Hap.Petah Tikva and four Maccabi Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Hap.Petah Tikva maintains eighth position with 3-8 record. Maccabi Ramat Gan at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Hap.Petah Tikva are looking forward to face higher ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Ramat Gan will play against Bnot Hertzeliya (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
