Regular Season Round 2: Camaguey - Sancti Spiritus 69-72

A very close game took place in Camaguey between Sancti Spiritus and Camaguey. Sancti Spiritus (2-0) got a very close victory on the road over Camaguey (0-2). Sancti Spiritus managed to escape with a 3-point win 72-69 on Wednesday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Camaguey won third quarter 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International forward Francy Ochoa (185-90) notched 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Eilen Gilbert (183-98) supported her with 23 points and 4 steals. Even 31 points and 5 rebounds by international forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82, agency: Pro Sports) did not help to save the game for Camaguey. Forward Lissandra Vargas (180-96) added 16 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the hosts. Sancti Spiritus will meet Guantanamo (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Camaguey will play against Santiago de Cuba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
